A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS
Adams County Senior Services had 149 volunteers give over 4,044 hours from March 2012-February 2013. ACSS volunteers serve in many ways: delivering home delivered meals, completing voucher surveys, installing smoke detectors, folding towels, wrapping flatware, working at the check in/reservation table, serving meals, helping with clean up and dishes, presenting programs and entertainment, taking blood pressures, teaching Tai Chi, FROGs and Belly Dancing, decorating the center, helping to coordinate special events, cutting and numbering monthly voucher tickets, participating with Medicare Part D reviews, and serving on the center’s site council, advisory council, and Board of Directors. ACSS is ever grateful for your service. Volunteers are truly the heart of Adams County Senior Services. You are appreciated! Please accept our heartfelt thanks.

FARMERS MARKET COUPONS
The Nebraska Department of Agriculture, Nebraska Health and Human Services Unit on Aging, Nebraska Farmers Market Association, and University of Nebraska Extension have received a grant to operate the Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program this year. Please call ACSS the first part of June to see if you qualify. Dates to distribute farmers market coupons will also be determined by the first part of June.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL AND BINGO
Friday, July 26, from 1-3 p.m. at the Golden Friendship Center. We will be playing BINGO from 1-2 p.m. with ice cream served afterward. Pleae register by Wednesday, July 24.

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS
Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day. Make your reservations on Friday, May 24, for the following Tuesday.
Thursday, July 4, is Independence Day. Make your reservations on Wednesday, July 3, for the following Friday.
On these days, there will be no meals or activities. The Golden Friendship Center will be CLOSED.
